We would like to invite you to attend Boise State University and become a member of the "KEITH STEIN, BLUE THUNDER MARCHING BAND" this next fall. We hope that you will strongly consider the many advantages of making Boise State University you home for the next few years.
We believe you'll like the atmosphere of campus life at Boise. As one of over 15,000 students at Boise State, you'll have all of the opportunities and advantages of a much larger university while sharing the warmth and friendliness among students, faculty, and the townspeople.
The campus is a beautiful one located in Idaho's center of government and enterprise. Boise State University provides a stimulating educational environment, as well as cultural, recreational, and professional opportunities for students. The campus is situated along the banks of the Boise River, just a few minutes walk from downtown Boise.
Music students at Boise State University practice and perform in one of the finest facilities in the United States--the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. It includes a 2,000 seat performing hall which is used by the Department, touring groups and local groups such as the Boise Civic Opera and Boise Philharmonic. In addition to the performing hall, it features many rooms especially designed for teaching and studying music, including a 200-seat recital hall, large rehearsal rooms for choir and instrumental groups, and individual sound-proof rooms for instruction in ensemble and solo music. The Center provides students with a natural "laboratory" because they can assist in the lighting, sound, and other technical aspects of performances.
The Morrison Center, when combined with Boise State's excellent teaching faculty, provides BSU students with an unsurpassed setting to study and enjoy music. You'll find musical organizations for your interest such as Orchestra, University Singers, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Meistersingers, Opera Theater, Percussion Ensemble, String Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Choral Ensemble, Duo-Piano Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Pep Band, and Marching Band. As a music major or minor, or as a person interested in music, you will find creative outlets for your talents at Boise State University.
With the BLUE THUNDER MARCHING BAND scholarship program, your college education possibly could be paid for by your participation in this organization .
